Birth Body and Triads

Birth Body and Triads
October 14, 2011 David Newman

This illustration depicts several basic ideas of function and organization of the etheric body. The central portion of this illustration depicts what is known as the birth body relationships. The birth body relationships are between two like elemental pranas. Air and fire; water and earth. These elemental pranas cooperate to maintain balance and to share the burden of imbalance. For example, if there is an imbalance (trauma, injury) within the head (fire) then the kidneys (air) will also share the effects of this imbalance. In order to reestablish balance both structures must be corrected together.

The triangles depicted are known as triads. Triads are structural and functional elemental relationships between three parts of the same elemental prana. For example the earth element triad is comprised of the neck, bowel and knees. These structures all have a large portion of earth prana. These elemental pranas cooperate to maintain balance and to share the burden of imbalance. For example, if there is an imbalance (trauma, injury) within the neck then the bowel and the knees will also share the effects of this imbalance. In order to reestablish balance all three structures must be corrected together.

This chart also depicts several spinal relationships between the triads.
