Kamden, better known as Kami, is a 2014 graduate of the NMSNT Day Program. He is currently the Anatomy and Physiology instructor for both the Morning and Day program, the Swedish Massage instructor for the Night Program, and the Business instructor for all programs.
Before massage school, he graduated Cum Laude from UNM with a degree in Evolutionary Anthropology and Philosophy. The focus of his studies was in primatology, working with Dr. Melissa Emery-Thompson and Dr. Sherry Van Nelson. Facing the inevitable angst and existential weight of post-graduate life, he spent two years floundering in a Kafkaesque surreality as a retail store manager at Aldo before the collapse of his professional and personal life, which lead him to the search for something entirely new. NMSNT made itself known shortly thereafter and he immediately enrolled with surety of purpose. After massage school he continued his studies in holistic medicine by going more deeply into herbalism, attending classes with Bernadette Torres and Tieraona Low Dog. He currently runs a business called Heart & Vine: Holistic Apothecary, based in the practices of herbalism and empowerment.
He continues to work as an LMT at Yes! Natural Nail Boutique and Massage Spa where he is the Lead Massage Therapist and one of the in-house herbalists.
